Osun Decides: ‘Count Again or No Vote’ — Agents Protest Ballot Paper Shortage

Party agents in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State have demanded a recount of ballot papers after alleging that the number supplied for the governorship election was less than the 594 they were told had been allocated to the polling location.

The incident was captured in a video shared on X on Saturday as voting commenced in the state.

In the video, the agents were seen insisting that the ballot papers be counted again before voting could begin, with one of them questioning the number presented at the polling location.

“If you count it again, I’m sure it won’t be up to 100, and they claimed they brought 594 for us and now is not up to 594,” one of the agents said.

An INEC official at the location reportedly explained that the discrepancy was caused by an error during the counting process.

The agents, however, insisted on another count, threatening not to commence voting if the number did not tally with the expected 594 ballot papers.

“Count again and if it doesn’t complete, we won’t vote,” the agents reportedly said.
