The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has launched a new toll-free short-code hotline, 3367, to improve emergency response, traffic management and accountability across the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA said the new platform replaces its previous long-service code with a more accessible channel that allows residents to report traffic-related incidents free of charge.

The agency said the 3367 hotline is currently available to subscribers on MTN, Glo and 9mobile networks.

According to LASTMA, road users can use the hotline to report vehicle breakdowns, road crashes, disabled trucks, stranded tankers, traffic obstructions and other emergencies requiring urgent intervention.

The platform also enables residents to report the conduct, professionalism and operational activities of LASTMA personnel as part of efforts to promote transparency, accountability and improved service delivery.

LASTMA said callers can communicate with operators in English, Yoruba or Pidgin English to encourage wider public participation and eliminate language barriers during emergencies.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the initiative as a significant step towards improving road safety and deploying technology to enhance traffic management in Lagos.

“The inauguration of the 3367 toll-free short-code hotline represents another monumental stride towards institutionalising a safer, more efficient and highly responsive transportation ecosystem across Lagos State.

“It provides residents with a direct, convenient and cost-free channel through which incidents requiring immediate intervention can be promptly reported,” Bakare-Oki said.

He assured residents that reports received through the platform would be treated professionally and confidentially before being forwarded to the appropriate operational units for prompt action.

Bakare-Oki urged members of the public to utilise the hotline to support efforts aimed at improving road safety, accountability and efficient traffic management across the state.
