NILDS DG Abubakar Suleiman withdraws from Kwara APC governorship race
The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abubakar Suleiman, has withdrawn from the Kwara State governorship race of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Suleiman announced his decision in a personally signed statement, citing recent political developments within the party and his respect for party supremacy.
He said his withdrawal was not a retreat from politics but a decision aligned with internal party realities ahead of the APC governorship primary.
Despite stepping down from the contest, Suleiman expressed confidence in the future of Kwara State and reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling party.
“I remain committed to the success of our great party at all levels and will continue to contribute towards advancing peace, unity, and progress in Kwara State,” he said.
The NILDS DG also pledged continued support for the APC, its leadership, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing his readiness to work for the party’s success in future elections.
He added that he would support ongoing efforts to strengthen unity within the party and promote development in the state.
