2027: Your presidential ambition dead on arrival – Wike fires at Makinde

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described the 2027 presidential ambition of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, as “dead on arrival.”

Wike said Makinde’s decision to align with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in pursuit of his presidential ambition would not succeed, insisting the political arrangement was bound to fail.

This follows Makinde’s declaration of interest in the 2027 presidential race on the platform of APM in Ibadan on Thursday, after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between his PDP faction and APM.

Reacting, Wike said the development would not translate into political success, adding that Makinde could not secure the PDP presidential ticket.

“What you have is Seyi Makinde joining APM to be able to actualise his presidential ambition, which is already dead on arrival. It’s unfortunate,” Wike said.

He further argued that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State had not endorsed any PDP–APM alliance, describing the claim as politically unfounded.
