Osun 2026: APC Promises Issue-Based Campaign, To Unveil Committee List Soon

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it will adopt an issue-based campaign strategy aimed at unseating the incumbent administration in the forthcoming governorship election.

The party also disclosed that it is set to release the comprehensive list of members of its Governorship Campaign Council and various committees ahead of the August 15, 2026 election.

In a press statement issued by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, the party said the composition of the campaign structure reflects its commitment to inclusiveness, effectiveness, and results-driven engagement.

According to the statement, members of the council and committees were carefully selected from a broad spectrum of society, including established and emerging politicians, professionals, community and religious leaders, civil society actors, as well as youth groups.

“The diverse composition underscores the APC’s commitment to broad-based participation and excellence,” the statement read.

The party further noted that its campaign would be anchored on clearly defined issues, in alignment with the vision of its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

It added that the campaign team would ensure consistency in communicating the party’s blueprint, which it described as practical, realistic, and responsive to the socio-economic realities of Osun State.

While expressing confidence in its policy direction, the APC maintained that its plans are well-positioned to tackle the economic and political challenges facing the state.

The party, however, criticised the current administration, alleging that it has not met public expectations despite the resources at its disposal.

“It is our considered position that the present government has fallen short of expectations. Despite the huge allocations available, the level of infrastructural development does not reflect the magnitude of these resources,” the statement said.

The APC also argued that effective governance goes beyond financial resources, stressing that competence, integrity, and experience are critical to achieving sustainable development.

It pledged to present what it described as a credible alternative to the electorate, assuring that its campaign would focus on facts, vision, and a clear roadmap for the state’s progress.

The party further assured residents that it is prepared to form a government that would uphold high standards of leadership and deliver tangible development if elected.

The statement was issued on behalf of the Director-General of the campaign council, Hon. Oluwole Oke.
