Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has described President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to the United Kingdom as strategic and timely, saying the trip came at a critical period in global diplomacy.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs said Nigeria must remain actively engaged in international affairs amid shifting global alliances.

According to him, President Tinubu’s meeting with Charles III reflects the enduring diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and the UK and is expected to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, and security.

Ibrahim noted that the visit was beyond ceremonial engagement, describing it as a deliberate move to strengthen Nigeria’s global relevance and foreign policy direction.

He added that Tinubu has continued to demonstrate strategic leadership in navigating international relations, stressing that history would judge his diplomatic efforts positively.

The senator further said stronger ties with major partners such as the United Kingdom reinforce Nigeria’s role as a stabilising force in Africa and a credible voice in global affairs.
