The President made the announcement during an interfaith breaking of fast with Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing welfare and accommodation challenges facing military personnel.
According to Tinubu, the gathering reflected the diversity and unity of the nation, stressing that members of the Armed Forces continue to make enormous sacrifices to defend the country and safeguard its sovereignty.
“I have listened to the Chief of Army Staff and the recent approvals given to the Army are well placed. On behalf of a grateful nation, I thank all of you for your sacrifices,” the President said.
He noted that many soldiers serve the country under difficult conditions, often away from their families while confronting threats from bandits and terrorists across various parts of the country.
Tinubu assured the military leadership that his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare of service members and their families, including improved accommodation and other benefits.
“This nation will always be grateful to you. Your sacrifices will not be in vain, and we will do everything possible to ensure that your welfare and the wellbeing of your families receive top priority,” he added.
The President also commended the leadership of the Armed Forces for their efforts in tackling security challenges and maintaining the country’s territorial integrity.
