Explosion Rocks U.S. Embassy In Norway, No Casualties Recorded

  1. An explosion struck the United States Embassy in Oslo in the early hours of Sunday, causing minor structural damage but leaving no casualties, authorities have confirmed.

Police said the blast occurred around 1:00 a.m. local time near the entrance of the embassy’s consular section, triggering an immediate security response around the diplomatic premises in the Norwegian capital, Oslo.

Confirming the incident, Norwegian police authorities stated that investigators had established that an explosion occurred at the embassy facility. Officials added that they were in close contact with embassy representatives and stressed that no injuries had been reported.

An eyewitness who drove past the area shortly after the blast said a thick layer of smoke covered part of the street near the building, noting that the explosion appeared to have caused visible damage to the entrance area of the diplomatic compound.

Security personnel quickly cordoned off the surroundings while investigators combed the site for evidence. According to police, the investigation involved the deployment of dogs, drones and a helicopter to examine the scene and ensure there were no further threats.

Authorities said the explosion caused only minor damage to parts of the building, adding that no additional explosive devices were discovered during the search.

The incident comes amid heightened global security concerns around American diplomatic missions. However, a police spokesperson said there was no immediate indication that the explosion in Oslo was connected to ongoing geopolitical tensions involving the United States.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the blast, while no individual or group has claimed responsibility as of the time of filing this report.
