The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday.
According to the statement, the restructured ministry will include a Directorate of Higher Education responsible for supervising universities and other tertiary institutions in the state.
The directorate will be headed by a Permanent Secretary, supported by other officials to ensure effective management of higher education.
“All agencies under the former Ministry of Higher Education, including the Scholarship Board, will now report to the Ministry of Education,” the statement said.
Governor Yusuf said the restructuring is aimed at reducing administrative costs, improving efficiency and strengthening coordination across all levels of education in Kano State.
He added that his administration remains committed to reforms that will revive the education sector and create better opportunities for young people.
The governor also directed the Office of the Secretary to the State Government and the Head of Service to ensure a smooth and immediate transition following the merger.
