Cleric Forecasts Political Shake-up, Economic Relief in 2026

The Senior Pastor of Zion Flames Ministries, Apostle Momo Promise, has predicted significant political and economic developments in Nigeria this year.

Delivering his New Year’s message at the church’s programme on Thursday, the cleric said a new opposition party would emerge stronger in 2026, but warned that its success would depend on a peaceful approach to politics.

“In 2026, the new opposition party will rise stronger and stronger. If they are to conquer, they will conquer by peace. If they take the path of violence, they will be humiliated totally,” Apostle Promise said.

He also issued a warning of divine judgment against those who oppress the poor and innocent, stating, “God is warning those who trample upon the innocent and treat the poor as nothing. There will be judgment in politics and among the citizens.”

On security, the cleric warned that sponsors of terrorism would face “utter destruction” and urged Nigerians not to fall victim to political violence ahead of the 2027 general elections. “Men will still rise in wickedness and use the innocent as sacrificial lambs for the 2027 election. Be wise, don’t die in their war,” he said.

On the economy, Apostle Promise predicted a drop in prices of goods in 2026 but cautioned that financial struggles would persist for many Nigerians.

“In 2026, the price of things will fall. Things will be relatively easy, but people will not have money to buy,” he noted.

The cleric also spoke on sports and international affairs, forecasting improved performances by Nigerian athletes on the global stage and recognition for the country. He warned, however, of natural disasters and economic challenges worldwide. “I see a major war waged on the economy of the world, and I see heavy flooding destroying parts of the earth,” he said.

He further urged African nations to remain united amid rising tensions in some regions and predicted political changes in Uganda. Apostle Promise also said the Church would face increased opposition in 2026, with false prophets exposed.

The pastor described his prophecies as reflections of his spiritual convictions and part of his annual New Year’s message.
