Aregbesola Fires Political Salvo, Rallies Massive Support for ADC in Osun

Former Osun State Governor and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Tuesday launched a fierce political charge in Ila, declaring that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has “failed Nigerians woefully” and must be shown the way out to rescue the nation from deepening insecurity, economic hardship and leadership paralysis.

Aregbesola led the party’s national leadership to the Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency to inaugurate ADC structures across the nine federal constituencies of Osun, drawing a massive crowd of loyalists and supporters.

Addressing the gathering, Aregbesola said the tour was designed to reawaken grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2026 governorship election, stressing that the ADC remains the clearest alternative for a people-driven and development-focused government.

He accused the APC-led Federal Government of dragging citizens into poverty and hopelessness through anti-people policies.

> “The present administration has scored A1 in politics but F9 in good governance,” Aregbesola declared.
“Over 76% of federal roads are not motorable, yet the government is fixated on a coastal highway that contributes nothing to the real economic situation of the country.”

He lamented the rise in insecurity, the collapse of public education and pervasive hunger nationwide, urging Nigerians to unite behind ADC for a national rescue.

Recalling his years in office, Aregbesola said his government fed 50,000 pupils, empowered over 60,000 youths and implemented policies that significantly reduced hunger—programmes he promised ADC would restore when voted into power in 2026.

Osun ADC Chairman, Dr Charles Omidiji, alongside prominent figures including Alhaji Azeez Adesiji, Senator Felix Ogunwale, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and Dr Najeem Salaam, urged members to intensify mobilisation for the party’s victory in upcoming elections.

Chairman of the party’s Membership Registration, Revalidation and Mobilisation Committee, Hon. Kamil Akinlabi, announced that the party’s registration and revalidation exercise officially commences today.

Receiving the delegation in his palace, the Orangun of Ila, Oba AbdulWahab Kayode Bibire I, represented by Chief Douglas Adeyinka, praised Aregbesola’s “unmatched legacy” in Osun and assured full support for the ADC.

The federal constituency tour continues on Thursday, November 20, in Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency.
