The Osun State House of Assembly is set to receive Governor Ademola Adeleke today, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, for the formal presentation of the 2026 draft budget.
The announcement came on Tuesday during the plenary session, following the reading of an official letter from the Governor to the Assembly. The communication, read by Speaker Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, confirmed Governor Adeleke’s readiness to lay the state’s financial proposals before lawmakers.
In the letter, the Governor stated:
“I am pleased to inform Mr. Speaker and the distinguished members of the Osun State House of Assembly of my intention to lay the 2026 Draft Estimates of the State before the House on Wednesday, 12th November, 2025, having concluded its preparation and obtained approval from the State Executive Council. This is in line with the existing rules which require that Draft Estimates be presented to the House for approval before the commencement of the budget year.”
The budget presentation will give Governor Adeleke the platform to outline his administration’s key expenditure plans for 2026 and enable lawmakers to scrutinize, debate, and approve the financial framework that will guide government operations for the year.
In a related development, the Osun State Research Integration and Innovation Implementation Bill, 2025, has successfully passed its first reading in the House.
