NCS Commends Police for Ensuring Prison Security During Kanu Protest

The Controller of Correctional Services in Abia State, Nwanyanwu Blessing Ifeoma, has lauded the Nigeria Police Force for their proactive role in safeguarding custodial centres during the “Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu” protest held on October 20, 2025.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Abia State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, on Wednesday, Nwanyanwu emphasized the importance of the police presence in preventing breaches and ensuring that correctional facilities remained secure throughout the demonstrations.

The meeting also served to strengthen the partnership between the Correctional Service and the Police Command, highlighting a shared commitment to public safety and efficient management of custodial institutions.
