One person was killed while another sustained injuries in a lone motorcycle accident that occurred on Tuesday night in Jagilegbo, Ifetedo, Osun State.
According to a First Incident Report by Agnes Ogungbemi, Spokesperson, the crash happened around 9:45 p.m. along the township route.
The report stated that the accident involved two adult males riding a single unregistered black TVS motorcycle. The motorcycle was reportedly travelling at high speed before the crash, with overspeeding identified as the likely cause.
“One of the riders died at the scene, while the other sustained head injuries and bruises. The injured victim was immediately taken to a general hospital for treatment, and the deceased was deposited at Divine Haven Morgue, Ondo,” the report added.
Confirming the incident, the Osun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, CC Leye Adegboyega, urged road users to avoid excessive speeding and to ensure their vehicles are properly registered. He emphasised that adherence to traffic regulations is crucial to reducing road accidents.
