APC Chieftain Slain Before Family in Otukpo

 

 

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, Hon. Ejeh Udeh, has been murdered by gunmen.

 

The incident happened around midnight on Monday when the attackers stormed his Ugboju residence. Eyewitnesses said the gunmen laid ambush and opened fire on him as soon as he returned home.

 

Udeh was shot dead in the presence of his family members. His remains have been deposited at the Otukpo General Hospital morgue.

 

The killing has heightened tension in the area. Residents recalled that the state has witnessed a string of violent attacks in recent weeks, with political leaders and other residents falling victim to suspected herders and armed gangs.

 

Security agencies were yet to comment on the incident at press time.
