Shettima, APC hail Remi Tinubu at 65

Vice President Kashim Shettima yesterday extolled the virtues of First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she clocked 65, describing her as a symbol of strength, compassion and selfless service to the nation.

In a statement titled “Celebrating 65 Years of Grace, Service and Compassion”, Shettima praised the First Lady’s unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu, noting that her impact through humanitarian and empowerment programmes has been felt across the country.

“Sixty-five may be just a number, but to us, it reflects countless years of brilliant motherhood, exemplary service to nationhood, compassion and unwavering support that a First Lady can provide to her husband and an entire nation,” the Vice President said.

He lauded her Renewed Hope Initiative, which he said has touched millions of Nigerians, adding that her commitment to women empowerment, youth development, education and care for the less privileged has left an indelible mark.

“When the history of this great nation and President Tinubu’s administration is written, your name will be inscribed in gold,” Shettima added.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) also joined in the celebration. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party described Senator Tinubu as “a steadfast pillar of support to Mr President and a true mother of the nation.”

From the days of President Tinubu’s pro-democracy struggle to his tenure as Lagos governor and now as President, the party noted, the First Lady has remained “an inestimable treasure of support and a dependable ally.”

APC National Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Nentawe, members of the National Working Committee and party faithful across the country congratulated Senator Tinubu, while praying for more grace, strength and wisdom for her continued service to family, nation and humanity.

Through her Renewed Hope Initiative and the New Era Foundation, the party said, Senator Tinubu has advanced causes in education, health, women and youth empowerment, as well as welfare for widows, senior citizens and other vulnerable groups.

“She is not just a First Lady, but a symbol of womanhood, strength and compassion,” Shettima affirmed.
