NAF Crash: Newlywed Co-Pilot Among 25 Killed in Ondo Air Disaster
Squadron Leader Ahamefule Man-Ugwueje, one of the co-pilots of the Nigerian Air Force ATR 42-500MP aircraft that crashed at Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday, was among the 25 people who died in the accident.
Ahamefule was reportedly married to Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle on September 20, two weeks before the crash, in an elaborate ceremony in Abuja.
He is survived by his young wife, parents and other family members.
A Squadron Leader in the Nigerian Air Force is equivalent in rank to a Major in the Nigerian Army.
Information on Ahamefule’s Facebook profile lists Umuahia, Abia State, as his hometown and Abuja as his current city.
Videos and photographs from Ahamefule and Adekunle’s wedding were also shared on the social media pages of the wedding planner and vendors involved in the ceremony.
