Adeleke Assents to Osun Park Management Law, Sets Out Transport Sector Reform
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has assented to the Osun State Park Management Bill, recently passed by the state House of Assembly, signalling the commencement of a new legal framework for the management of motor parks and transportation activities across the state.
Speaking shortly after signing the bill into law at the Government House, Adeleke said the legislation would provide a lasting solution to challenges confronting the state’s transportation park system. He said, “Having signed this bill into law, I assure all stakeholders that implementation will commence in earnest. In line with the law, we will ensure that Osun people and other interests are accommodated for efficient service delivery across the state.”
The governor commended the Speaker and members of the House of Assembly for what he described as their proactive approach to addressing issues affecting the transport sector.
According to Adeleke, he carefully reviewed the bill as passed by the lawmakers and was convinced that it offered a framework for addressing the perennial challenges in the state’s park management system.
He said the new law would help modernise the transportation system while creating a more organised and efficient environment for commuters and transport operators across Osun.
Earlier, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, said the lawmakers complied with the standing rules of the House in processing and passing the bill.
Egbedun said the legislation was designed to address concerns surrounding the management of motor parks and transportation activities in the state, adding that it also provides for sustainable transport practices.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi; Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye; Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina; members of the State Executive Council and other senior government officials.
