2027: APC Women Mobilisation Secretary Pledges Grassroots Support for Tinubu

Politician and women’s rights advocate, Mary Idele, has pledged to lead effective grassroots mobilisation of Nigerian women for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Idele made the commitment following her appointment as Secretary of the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council.

In a statement on Monday, she thanked Tinubu for the confidence reposed in her, describing the appointment as both a responsibility and an opportunity to contribute to the President’s re-election campaign.

She said she would deploy her experience in grassroots mobilisation, women empowerment and organisational coordination to build a broad-based network capable of engaging women across the country.

“I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, for the confidence and trust reposed in me through this appointment. I accept the responsibility with humility and a deep sense of duty,” Idele said.

She pledged to work with women leaders, party officials and other stakeholders to strengthen coordination and participation while ensuring that women are adequately integrated into the campaign’s mobilisation strategy.

“I am committed to working with our women across the country to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, deepen engagement and ensure that the women’s wing of the campaign council delivers effectively on its mandate,” she said.

Idele said the directorate would focus on building a mobilisation structure capable of taking the campaign message to women in communities and local government areas across the federation.

“Our goal is to mobilise Nigerian women for victory and to support the progressive and Renewed Hope agenda. We will work collectively, strategically and tirelessly to ensure a landslide victory for Mr President in 2027,” she pledged.

Her appointment comes amid increased political activity ahead of the 2027 general election, with the APC intensifying efforts to consolidate its structures and expand support for Tinubu’s re-election.
