Iran claims drone attacks on US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan

Iran’s army has claimed responsibility for drone attacks targeting American military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan, describing the strikes as retaliation for recent US attacks on the Islamic Republic.

In a statement carried by Iranian state television on Friday, the army said Arash kamikaze drones struck facilities at the Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

“This morning, the fuel tanks, large equipment warehouses and silos, and the barracks of the US terrorist army forces at the Isa Air Base in Bahrain were targeted by Arash kamikaze drones,” the statement said.

Reports indicated that an explosion was heard and warning sirens sounded in Bahrain on Friday morning, although authorities had not confirmed whether the incidents were linked to the reported drone attack.

The Iranian military also claimed to have targeted the Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, saying aircraft hangars, aviation maintenance facilities and military barracks were hit.

Jordan had not reported any strikes or damage at the time of filing this report.

Tehran maintains that any military facility in the Middle East used by the United States to launch attacks against Iran constitutes a legitimate target for retaliation.
