Osun 2026: Why Salaam Is the Best Choice for Governor — Aregbesola

Former Governor of Osun State and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has thrown his weight behind the party’s governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam, declaring that no other contestant in the August 15 governorship election matches his competence, integrity, and leadership qualities.

Aregbesola made the declaration on Tuesday while addressing thousands of party supporters at the ADC mega rally in Ile-Ife.

According to him, the future of any state is largely determined by the quality of its leadership, stressing that only leaders with vision, integrity, competence, and a genuine commitment to public service can deliver meaningful development.

“There is no doubt that among all those contesting the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam stands out in terms of competence, humility, integrity, and character. His antecedents in public service speak for themselves, and I have absolute confidence that he will deploy his vast experience, knowledge, and leadership capacity to transform Osun State if elected governor,” Aregbesola said.

The former Minister of Interior added that Salaam understands that governance is about serving the people and pledged that an ADC administration would be guided by transparency, accountability, competence, humility, and the fear of God.

He expressed confidence that the party’s candidate would provide purposeful leadership capable of driving sustainable development and improving the welfare of residents across the state.

Aregbesola also appealed to the people of Osun to vote massively for the ADC in the forthcoming governorship election, assuring them that the party would uphold progressive ideals and implement people-oriented policies aimed at improving the quality of life of all citizens, regardless of their social or economic background.
