Actor Owolabi Ajasa debunks death rumour

Veteran Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa has dismissed reports circulating on social media that he is dead, describing the claims as false.

Ajasa, widely known for playing police officer roles and his popular catchphrase, “Ta lo pa chief?”, addressed the rumour in a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday.

The clarification followed the circulation of an obituary poster announcing his purported death, which triggered concern among fans and colleagues.

“Good day everyone, my name still remains Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want to tell all my fans both in Nigeria and abroad that I’m still much alive. I’m alive, hale and hearty. There’s nothing wrong with me,” he said.

The actor also condemned those responsible for spreading the false report.

“To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying back to the sender to you and your family,” he added.

His video has since reassured fans, many of whom took to social media to express relief and wish him continued good health.
