Court Orders Forfeiture of N4.6bn Jewellery, Exotic Cars Linked to Achimugu
An Abuja High Court has ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth billions of naira linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.
Justice Jude Onwugbuzie of the Apo High Court granted the order on Thursday after ruling on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The forfeited assets include jewellery valued at N4.645 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth N4.293 billion, $50,000 in cash, and N30 million.
The EFCC had asked the court to permanently forfeit the assets, which were previously the subject of legal proceedings involving Achimugu.
Justice Onwugbuzie granted the application, ordering that the properties and cash be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
The judgment, delivered on Thursday, marked the conclusion of the forfeiture proceedings initiated by the anti-graft agency.
