APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed this on Friday in a post on his X handle, announcing that the party had received the presidential nomination forms of Tinubu and Shettima ahead of the general election.
Yilwatda described the development as a significant step that reaffirmed the party’s commitment to sustaining the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and consolidating its achievements.
He said the nomination forms were presented on behalf of President Tinubu by his Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, during a ceremony in Abuja.
The APC chairman said the event reflected the party’s confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and Shettima as they seek another mandate from Nigerians.
The development puts to rest months of speculation that President Tinubu could replace Shettima with a northern Christian candidate in a bid to maintain religious and regional balance ahead of the 2027 election.
The presentation was attended by several APC leaders, including the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, alongside governors from across the country, party executives and other stakeholders.
Yilwatda said the APC would continue to strengthen its grassroots support, consolidate the administration’s programmes and work towards building what he described as a more prosperous, secure and inclusive Nigeria.
