The Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, disclosed the development in a statement shared on Friday, confirming that implementation of the programme has already begun.
According to him, the new addressing system is designed to improve service delivery, strengthen emergency response and support Nigeria’s digital transformation.
“Every home in Nigeria will get a unique digital postcode as part of the ongoing National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System rollout. This process has already commenced,” he said.
Olusegun added that the initiative would provide the country with a smarter, more secure and digitally enabled addressing system capable of unlocking new economic opportunities.
He said the programme aligns with the Tinubu administration’s broader economic reform agenda and its target of building a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
