Tinubu celebrates Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Achebe, at 85
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Obi of Onitsha, His Majesty Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, on his 85th birthday, describing the revered monarch as a symbol of unity, grace and integrity.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended the traditional ruler for his contributions to national development, corporate leadership and community service.
Tinubu described Igwe Achebe as one of the foremost traditional rulers in the South-East, as well as a distinguished corporate executive and oil and gas expert.
The President noted that before ascending the throne, the monarch served as a director in Shell Petroleum Company in Nigeria and held leadership positions in several Shell companies across the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Liberia and Angola.
He also praised the monarch’s efforts in promoting peace, youth empowerment and socio-economic development within Onitsha and beyond.
According to the President, Igwe Achebe has played a significant role in fostering national cohesion and strengthening the relationship between grassroots communities and government institutions.
Tinubu joined the royal family, the people of Onitsha and residents of Anambra State in celebrating the monarch, praying for continued good health, strength and many more years of service to the nation.
