The Ogun State Police Command has clarified that a viral video circulating on social media and being associated with Ogun State did not originate from the state.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the command said preliminary investigations revealed that the footage was neither recorded in Ogun State nor anywhere in Nigeria.

According to the police, available information and independent verification indicate that the video was originally recorded outside Nigeria and had appeared online several years ago before being recirculated with a misleading narrative.

The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, urged residents to avoid sharing unverified information, warning that misinformation could create unnecessary panic. He reassured the public that the command remains vigilant and committed to protecting lives and property across the state while encouraging citizens to rely on official sources for security-related information.
