Adeniyi Seeks Stronger Global Customs Partnerships on Trade, Border Management
The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with customs administrations and diplomatic missions worldwide to enhance trade facilitation and border management.
Adeniyi made the statement during a diplomatic reception held at the Nigeria Customs Service headquarters in Abuja, which brought together ambassadors, high commissioners, heads of diplomatic missions, and senior government officials.
He noted that the Customs Service has established collaboration frameworks with more than 20 customs administrations across the globe, focusing on knowledge sharing, capacity building, and operational cooperation. He added that stronger partnerships are essential for improving trade processes, enhancing border security, and supporting economic growth.
The Comptroller-General further stressed the importance of continuous engagement in an increasingly interconnected global environment, describing the reception as a platform for dialogue, relationship-building, and exploring new areas of cooperation. Participants at the event commended the Nigeria Customs Service for its efforts in promoting international collaboration and institutional partnerships.
