BREAKING: Gunmen abduct ex-Tinubu minister Adelabu’s sister, twin sons in Ibadan
Gunmen have abducted a sister of the immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, alongside her twin sons in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The victims were identified as Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twins, Peter and Paul.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, 2026, when the woman was on her way to drop the children at school.
As of press time, their whereabouts remain unknown.
A media aide to the former minister, Femi Awogboro, confirmed the abduction in a statement, saying the matter had been reported to the police.
He said Mrs John-Paul, 43, was forcefully taken alongside her children at about 7:30 a.m. by armed men.
Awogboro described the victim as the youngest of five children of Mrs Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke Adelabu, noting that she previously worked with the Central Bank of Nigeria and First Bank Pension Custodian before retiring and relocating to Ibadan.
Police authorities in Oyo State had yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
