Kwara APC remains party to beat, says Senator Mustapha

The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the dominant political force in Kwara State, attributing the party’s strength to its grassroots structure, internal cohesion and sustained engagement with communities.

Speaking in Ilorin after observing Eid-el-Kabir prayers, Mustapha said the reception he received from constituents upon his return to the state reflected the strong bond between elected representatives and the people.

“I am so happy to come home and be received in this manner. It is a sign of true love from the people of Kwara. Money cannot buy this; it is the will of Allah, and whatever Allah has destined, we will continue to be grateful to Him,” he said.

The lawmaker maintained that the APC remained firmly rooted across the state and was well-positioned ahead of future elections.

“The APC is the party to beat. A united and strong APC cannot be matched by any political party in Kwara State,” Mustapha said.

He added that the party’s prospects were tied to ongoing efforts by both the state and federal governments, particularly under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We see great prospects for the party as we continue to support the good work already started by both the state and federal governments, especially under the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President,” he stated.

Mustapha also used the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to call for national unity and collective action in addressing the country’s security and socio-political challenges.

“This is a period for sober reflection and renewed commitment to the ideals of unity, sacrifice and mutual coexistence. Nigerians must refuse to give room to those seeking to profit from our pain or widen the fault lines that divide us as a people,” he said.

Expressing concern over insecurity in parts of the country, the senator urged Nigerians to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information.

“Security is everybody’s business,” he said, stressing the need for stronger collaboration between citizens and security agencies.

Mustapha also encouraged Muslims to uphold the values of sacrifice, tolerance, generosity and compassion beyond the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

He extended felicitations to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the people of Kwara State, while praying for continued peace, progress and stability in the state and the country.
