The council, in a statement issued on Monday by the Senior Media Aide, Media and Public Communication Unit, Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, on behalf of the Director-General of the campaign council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, said the new month presents another opportunity for citizens to embrace hope, peace and collective progress.
According to the statement, “As we journey forward, I urge our people across Obokun and Oriade to remain steadfast, united and committed to the continued development of our dear constituency and Osun State at large. The future we seek is within reach, and it requires our active participation and wise choices.”
The council noted that sustainable development in Osun can only be achieved through responsible civic engagement and active participation in the democratic process.
It therefore called on residents to come out en masse on August 15 to vote for Oyebamiji, describing him as a leader with proven competence, vision and dedication to the growth and transformation of the state.
Meanwhile, the council expressed concern over the reported abduction of over 40 schoolchildren and members of staff in Ahoro-Esinle/Yawota area of Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Describing the incident as tragic and heartbreaking, the council sympathised with the affected families and prayed for the safe return of the victims.
“We pray earnestly for the safety and swift release of the victims. May God comfort the families in this trying time, strengthen their hearts and grant them hope beyond despair,” the statement added.
The council further expressed confidence in the efforts of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address insecurity and restore lasting peace across the country.
It also urged Nigerians to continue supporting lawful authorities and contribute their quota towards building a safer, stronger and more prosperous nation.
