Tinubu, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election, defeated his co-contender, Mr. Stanley Osayamen Osifor, who scored no vote in the primary.
Announcing the result in Osogbo, the Returning Officer for the Osun APC Presidential Primary Election and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, said the exercise was peaceful and reflected the unity within the party.
Oyetola disclosed that out of the 109,806 digitally registered APC members in Osun State, 100,880 accredited members participated in the primary and all voted for President Tinubu across the 30 local government areas of the state.
“By the powers vested in me as the Osun State Coordinator and Returning Officer for the Presidential Primary Election, I hereby declare President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the winner of the APC Presidential Primary Election in Osun State, having polled 100,880 votes,” Oyetola declared.
He commended party members for their support and peaceful conduct during the exercise, describing the turnout as a demonstration of confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and the Renewed Hope agenda.
According to him, the orderly conduct of the primary across the state further confirmed the APC’s commitment to democratic principles, internal cohesion and progressive governance.
Also speaking, the APC governorship candidate in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the primary.
Oyebamiji lauded party leaders and members for their massive turnout and support for President Tinubu, noting that the peaceful exercise was a positive signal ahead of future electoral contests in the state.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies, party stakeholders and journalists monitored the exercise.
