EPL: Guardiola dismisses rumours of Man City exit
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has dismissed speculation linking him with a departure from the club at the end of the season.
Guardiola, whose current contract runs until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, insisted he is not planning to leave the Premier League champions this summer.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester City’s FA Cup final clash against Chelsea on Saturday, the Spaniard responded to reports suggesting he could step down at the end of the season.
“No way. I have one more year [on my] contract,” Guardiola said.
The 55-year-old was also asked if his time at Manchester City could be regarded as a period of greatness following the club’s success under his leadership.
“Yeah, of course, 19 titles in 10 years is not bad,” he added.
Guardiola has enjoyed a highly successful spell at the Etihad Stadium since joining the club in 2016, winning multiple Premier League titles, domestic cups and the UEFA Champions League.
