Osun 2026: ADC’s Salaam Unveils Plan to End Power Crisis
The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Dr. Najeem Salaam, has pledged to tackle the lingering electricity challenges confronting residents and businesses across the state if elected.
Salaam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, made the promise while speaking on a political programme, Oro Oselu, aired on Uniq FM, Ilesa.
According to a statement issued by his media office in Osogbo on Tuesday, the ADC candidate said his campaign remains focused on governance, development, and people-oriented policies rather than political attacks and distractions.
He disclosed that he had been engaging investors and stakeholders in the energy sector towards finding lasting solutions to the epileptic power supply affecting homes, industries, and small businesses in the state.
The former lawmaker stressed that stable electricity is critical to economic growth, industrial development, youth empowerment, and the survival of small and medium-scale enterprises.
“No meaningful development can thrive in an environment plagued by poor electricity supply,” Salaam stated, assuring residents that his administration would pursue strategic partnerships and innovative energy initiatives capable of improving power generation and distribution across Osun State.
He further maintained that the people of the state deserve purposeful leadership driven by vision, peace, and practical solutions aimed at restoring sustainable development and quality governance.
As political activities intensify ahead of the governorship poll, candidates have continued to unveil policy directions and development agendas.
While the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Oyebamiji, recently introduced his seven-point agenda tagged “PROSPER,” Governor Ademola Adeleke has continued to implement his administration’s five-point agenda centred on workers’ welfare, education, infrastructure, health, and security.
