BREAKING: JAMB retains 150 cut-off mark for university admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has retained 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The decision was announced on Monday during the Board’s annual policy meeting held in Abuja.

According to JAMB, the benchmark was adopted following deliberations and voting by vice-chancellors and heads of tertiary institutions present at the meeting.

The meeting also resolved that the minimum admissible score for Colleges of Nursing would remain 150, while Polytechnics would admit candidates with a minimum score of 100.

Heads of tertiary institutions reportedly reached a unanimous agreement on the approved benchmarks for the various categories of institutions.

The policy meeting is an annual gathering where stakeholders in the education sector determine admission guidelines and benchmarks for the upcoming academic session.
