Premier League rejects Manchester City’s request to reschedule two fixtures

The Premier League has turned down Manchester City’s request to alter the scheduling of their remaining fixtures against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.

City had reportedly asked for the matches to be rearranged to more favourable dates in the run-in as they push for the title, in what could have given Pep Guardiola’s side a slight advantage over rivals Arsenal.

However, the league has maintained the original schedule.

Manchester City will now host Crystal Palace on Wednesday, May 13, as planned, before facing Crystal Palace again in the FA Cup final on Saturday, May 16.

Their away clash against Bournemouth is set for Tuesday, May 19.

Arsenal currently sit three points clear at the top of the table, although they have played one game more than City, setting up a tight finish to the season.
