President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Modupe Adelabu as the new Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Examinations Council.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said the appointment is part of efforts to strengthen leadership in key education institutions.

Adelabu, a specialist in educational administration, is a retired academic of Obafemi Awolowo University. She previously served as Deputy Governor of Ekiti State between 2013 and 2014 and later chaired the National Board for Technical Education from 2018 to 2021.

Her appointment is expected to bolster the leadership of NECO and support ongoing reforms aimed at improving the credibility and standards of national examinations in Nigeria.
