Revealed: How Bola Ahmed Tinubu Allegedly Backed Ademola Adeleke Against Gboyega Oyetola — Akin Ogunbiyi

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and senatorial aspirant for Osun West, Akin Ogunbiyi, has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu once expressed preference for the emergence of Ademola Adeleke as governor of Osun State.

Ogunbiyi made the claim in a viral video currently circulating on social media, stating that the President disclosed this during a meeting with party leaders.

According to him, Tinubu reportedly told stakeholders that he did not expect the APC to field a candidate for the Osun governorship election, as he had already identified Adeleke for the position.

He further alleged that the President explained that bringing Adeleke into the political arrangement would make governance easier.

Ogunbiyi also claimed that Tinubu confronted former governor, Gboyega Oyetola, over his alleged role in rejecting Adeleke’s entry into the APC, questioning how he intended to win the election under such circumstances.

The APC stalwart spoke in Yoruba in the video, which has since sparked widespread reactions across political circles.

Meanwhile, Ogunbiyi recently declared his intention to contest the Osun West Senatorial seat under the APC, expressing confidence in securing the party’s ticket.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Iwo, he said leaders across the senatorial district had thrown their weight behind his ambition, citing his experience and track record as key strengths.

He added that his engagement with party stakeholders was part of consultations ahead of a formal public declaration.
