Abia PDP urges voters to reject APC in 2027
The Abia State Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on voters in the state to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference in Umuahia on Thursday, the committee chairman, Ikpegbu Emeka-Yellow, said voting for the APC would amount to endorsing hardship, stagnation, and poor governance.
He alleged that some political actors promoting the APC in Abia were the same individuals responsible for past underdevelopment in the state, warning that voters should not be deceived by “rebranded” politicians.
Emeka-Yellow said Abia must continue on a path of progress and should not return to what he described as failed leadership.
He also urged unity among opposition parties in the state, calling for collaboration to protect democracy and resist any attempt to dominate the political space.
According to him, the PDP remains strong, united, and prepared for the 2027 elections, with plans to present credible candidates.
He further extended criticism to the APC at the national level, accusing the party of worsening economic hardship, insecurity, inflation, and institutional decline.
Emeka-Yellow called on voters to remain vigilant ahead of the elections, insisting that Abia should not “fall into the hands” of the ruling party.
