BREAKING: Protesters storm INEC office in Abuja
Hundreds of Nigerians on Wednesday stormed the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja as part of the ongoing “Save Democracy” protest.
The demonstrators, many dressed in “Operation Save Our Democracy” T-shirts, carried placards with various inscriptions while chanting solidarity songs, including the popular “We no go gree.” Some protesters also called for the removal of the INEC chairman during the demonstration.
Supporters of prominent activists and political figures, including Aisha Yesufu, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, were seen participating in the protest.
Separate footage showed key opposition figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, and David Mark mobilising at the Maitama Roundabout in the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the demonstration.
The protest comes amid rising political tension following recent developments involving INEC and the leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
