Najeem Salaam, candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, has declared that he remains firmly in the race, expressing confidence that victory is certain despite recent developments within the party.
In a statement issued on Friday, Salaam said he is in the contest to win, stressing that his resolve remains strong, his vision clear and his commitment to the people of Osun unwavering.
He urged members, supporters and stakeholders of the ADC across the state to remain steadfast, united and focused, describing the period as one that demands courage, loyalty and renewed determination.
According to him, every lawful and legitimate means would be deployed to secure victory for the party and deliver the mandate of the people.
Salaam also expressed concern over what he described as disturbing developments involving the electoral process, alleging that recent actions by the electoral umpire were questionable.
He, however, said he had confidence in the rule of law and democratic institutions, insisting that any perceived injustice would be corrected.
“Our campaign is rooted in the collective aspiration of our people for a better and more prosperous Osun. No amount of intimidation, manipulation or administrative manoeuvring will derail the will of the people,” he said.
He further appealed to supporters to remain peaceful and committed, assuring them that the party would overcome all obstacles and emerge victorious at the polls.
“The future of Osun is bright, and with your continued support, victory is assured,” he added.
