NUBASS moves to evacuate Bauchi students from Jos over insecurity

The National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) has initiated plans to evacuate its members from Jos and surrounding communities following worsening security conditions in Plateau State.

In a notice issued to students, the union said the move was prompted by growing concerns over the safety of Bauchi indigenes residing in affected areas.

NUBASS disclosed that arrangements are already underway to facilitate the safe relocation of students back to Bauchi State, assuring that their protection remains a top priority.

The union directed all Bauchi students currently in Jos and its environs to urgently submit their details to support the evacuation process. Required information includes full name, current location, and a reachable phone number.

According to the union, the data will enable proper identification, location tracking, and coordination of movement out of vulnerable areas.

It further urged affected students to promptly forward their details through designated contact channels to avoid delays in the evacuation exercise.

The development comes amid rising tension and renewed attacks in parts of Jos North Local Government Area, heightening fears over the safety of residents and students in the region.
