Stone Rockers Limited, a construction company, has filed a N5 billion lawsuit against the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), accusing the agency of unlawfully shutting down its quarry operations and seizing equipment.

The suit, filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, under FHC/ABJ/CS/2412/2025, also names the NSCDC Commandant-General and Attah John Onoja, commander of the Mining Marshals Unit, as co-defendants.

The company, through its lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, SAN, alleged that the defendants acted beyond their statutory powers by sealing its quarry at Gaube Farmland Layout, Barmishi Village, Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), without a valid court order. The quarry is reportedly covered by lease No. 37326.

Stone Rockers claimed its operations were halted on July 24, 2025, following accusations of encroachment on land belonging to Lord Career Ventures Nigeria Limited. The company further alleged that its equipment was confiscated on August 16, 2025, without judicial approval.

The firm is seeking a court declaration that the shutdown and seizure of assets were unlawful and constitute abuse of power. It also demands the return of its equipment, N5 billion in damages, and an order allowing it to resume quarry operations without interference.

The matter has been assigned to Justice Mohammed Umar and is slated for hearing on May 19, 2026.
