Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on Monday visited Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area following a deadly attack that left several people dead and many others injured.

The governor, who toured the scene of the incident, expressed deep sorrow over the killings, describing the assault as “heinous and evil.”

He said the scale of the tragedy had left him deeply shaken, noting that he had “not been able to sleep” since receiving news of the attack.

Governor Mutfwang assured residents that those responsible would be swiftly apprehended and prosecuted, pledging justice for the victims.

He also announced that the state government would organise a befitting burial for those killed, while covering the medical expenses of injured victims currently receiving treatment.

The governor called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to work closely with the government to address the state’s security challenges.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring lasting peace, strengthening security structures, and promoting unity across Plateau State.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday evening, prompted the state government to impose a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area, as security agencies intensify operations to restore order.
