2027: Sam Amadi Declares Support for Peter Obi, Labels Other Candidates ‘Thieves’

Former Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) chairman, Sam Amadi, has revealed his preferred candidate ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Amadi took to X to declare his backing for Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, describing him as the only contender he can “excitedly support.”

In the same post, Amadi criticised other presidential hopefuls, alleging that they have all demonstrated corrupt tendencies. He wrote, “The rest are mostly thieves, actually armed robbers in suits and agbada.”

The remark came in reaction to an online post linking Lagos socialite Aisha Achimugu’s recently forfeited $13 million to a top politician. Amadi’s post suggested that her alleged financial fraud was connected to broader political interests.

The declaration adds another dimension to the growing public discourse ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections, highlighting concerns over integrity and transparency in political leadership.
