Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested three suspected logistics suppliers linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The suspects were apprehended during an operation by troops under Operation Savannah Shield at about 7:35 a.m. on March 15 at a Forward Operating Base in Kaiama.

According to security sources, the operation began with the arrest of a suspect allegedly planning to supply three motorcycles to a terrorist group.

Further intelligence-led investigations led to the arrest of two additional suspects, believed to be members of ISWAP/Boko Haram, who had reportedly arrived in the area to receive the motorcycles.

The motorcycles were said to be intended for delivery to terrorists operating in Nuku village, raising concerns over the use of logistics networks to sustain insurgent activities beyond traditional conflict zones.

All three suspects are currently in military custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of their involvement and possible links to a wider network.

The arrests highlight ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt terrorist supply chains and prevent the spread of insurgent operations into North-Central regions.
