Speaking on Arise Television’s morning programme, Morka said the PDP is no longer capable of operating effectively as a political party.
“The PDP is no longer able to call itself a political party. By its own internal dysfunction, it has failed to offer its members any sensible, credible, or actionable platform to pursue their political aspirations,” he stated.
Morka described defections to the APC as an endorsement of the ruling party rather than a sign that Nigeria is moving toward a one-party system.
“When people decamp to the APC, it is an endorsement of the party. It reflects our ability to provide what the opposition cannot. That is not our fault,” he added.
The APC spokesman also dismissed concerns about a one-party state, calling such claims misleading. “To suggest that Nigeria is turning into a one-party state is utterly mischievous. It ignores the realities and history of our democratic system,” Morka said.
His comments come amid a steady increase in defections of governors and party members from the PDP to the APC.
