The death of the jurist was announced on Friday in Akure in a statement issued by the Chief Registrar of the Ondo State High Court, Ayodeji Akinsanya.
According to the statement, Justice Adeyeye, who served as the presiding judge of High Court 5 in Akure, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
“It is with deep sorrow and profound grief that the Ondo State Judiciary announces the passing of Hon. Justice B. F. Adeyeye, a distinguished jurist and serving judge of High Court 5, Akure,” the statement read.
The judiciary described the late judge as a symbol of integrity, wisdom and dedication to justice, noting that his years on the bench were marked by a strong commitment to fairness, equity and the rule of law.
Justice Adeyeye was also said to be widely respected among colleagues, members of the legal profession and the public for his humility, erudition and impartiality.
The statement added that his contributions to the growth of the judiciary and the advancement of justice in Ondo State would remain enduring.
It noted that his death represents a significant loss to the judiciary, Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
“On behalf of the judges, magistrates and staff of the Ondo State Judiciary, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Justice B. F. Adeyeye,” the statement added.
Justice Adeyeye was sworn in as a judge of the Ondo State High Court on September 8, 2011.
Born on January 16, 1961, he founded the law firm Fola Adeyeye & Co. in Okitipupa, Ondo State, before his appointment to the bench.
