Trump made the remarks while addressing a Republican gathering in Doral, Florida, where he said the United States and its allies had significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities.
According to him, the operation was launched to prevent what he described as an imminent attack by Iran on several targets across the Middle East, including Israel.
“Within a week they were going to attack us 100 per cent. They had missiles far more than anyone thought and they were going to attack all of the Middle East and Israel,” Trump said.
He further claimed that if Iran possessed nuclear weapons, it might have deployed them against Israel.
Trump also highlighted what he described as successes recorded so far in the military campaign, noting that several Iranian missiles and drones had been destroyed.
“The missiles have largely been knocked out, the drones have been brought down and we are targeting the places where the drones are produced,” he said.
Despite his confidence that the conflict could end quickly, observers say the situation remains fluid as military operations and regional tensions persist.
Analysts warn that the crisis could still escalate, with global attention focused on developments in the region and the potential implications for stability in the Middle East.
