President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate reconstruction of three major roads in Niger State, covering a total of 306.5 kilometres, as part of the administration’s ongoing drive to improve critical infrastructure nationwide.

The roads slated for reconstruction include the Mokwa–Bida Road (120km), Mokwa–Makeri Road (63km), and Bida–Labata Road (123.5km). All three projects will feature reinforced concrete pavements to ensure durability and long-term value.

A statement issued on Thursday night by Francis Nwaze, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Works on Media, also revealed that President Tinubu has approved the extension of the Bodo–Bonny Road to connect with the East–West Road. The extension will be developed as a dual carriageway, constructed with concrete pavement, and equipped with solar-powered street lighting.

According to the statement, the road projects will be executed through a competitive bidding process, ensuring transparency and quality delivery.

The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu for the strategic approvals, noting that the projects fall within critical national economic corridors and will significantly boost connectivity, trade, and regional development.

Umahi called on Nigerians to appreciate the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development across the six geopolitical zones, particularly in the construction of quality roads and bridges. He also congratulated the governors and people of Niger and Rivers States, as well as all Nigerians who stand to benefit from the landmark approvals.

The minister urged citizens to continue to support and pray for the President, emphasizing that the government remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
